Geomajas Development

Geomajas is an Open Source GIS framework. It's developed under the GNU Affero general public licence (AGPL) v3, although different licences are available through Geosparc. Visit the licensing overview page for more information.

Staying up-to-date

To follow what is happening in the community you can

• Follow the user forums, to automatically follow changes on the topics of your choice, we recommend the use of the RSS feeds, which are available at the bottom on the forum pages.
• For info on the development, join the mailing lists. There are lists for discussions about the development and notification list for the issues and commits.

Source code

• Our subversion repository is available at https://svn.geomajas.org/majas/
• For the continued development (bugfixes and minor improvements) on 1.4, use https://svn.geomajas.org/majas/branches/1.3.x/
  For our latest-and-greatest, the work on our future 1.5 version, use https://svn.geomajas.org/majas/trunk/
• For developers, there is also a continuous integration engine installed, which makes an hourly build of the Geomajas product lines. It reports if builds were succesful or not, and even reports build failures on our commit mailing list.

Contributing

As with any open source project, there are several ways you can help:

• Join the developers mailing lists and join the discussion.
• Report bugs, feature requests and other issues using the Geomajas GIS issue tracker.
  Please read the basic issue tracker rules before creating issues.
• Submit patches to reported issues (both those you find, or that others have filed) - more info coming soon
• Help with the Geomajas GIS documentation by pointing out areas that are lacking or unclear. Please post your comments in the fora.
